Nivedita Deshpande, who specializes in light installations, studied for five years at the Maryland Institute, College of Art, Baltimore, for 5 years. Prior to that, she took a Bachelor of Fine Arts course in sculpture from M.S. University, Baroda.

She has been participating in various group shows in India and abroad for the past 12 years.
